Enhancing heat transfer in automobile radiators is one of the key aspects of the automotive industry. In recent years, increased emphasis has been placed on the use of nanofluids to enhance heat transfer in various types of heat exchangers; however, only a limited number of studies have focused specifically on radiators. In this study, water and two nanofluids (aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and copper oxide (CuO)) were experimentally tested in a Peugeot 206 radiator to investigate and compare their heat transfer performance. The nanofluids were prepared at three different weight concentrations: 0.1%, 0.3%, and 1.0%. The experiments were conducted at two fan speeds (medium and high) and four different engine speeds. The results showed that, under high fan speed, the maximum enhancement in heat transfer compared to water was achieved with the Al₂O₃ nanofluid at 1.0 wt% and an engine speed of 1152 rpm, reaching a 29.52% increase. For the CuO nanofluid under the same conditions, the highest enhancement occurred at 1.0 wt% and 1152 rpm, with a 39.52% increase over water. At medium fan speed, the greatest heat transfer improvement for both nanofluids was also observed at 1.0 wt% and 1152 rpm, with the Al₂O₃ and CuO nanofluids showing 27.80% and 35.30% increases, respectively.
