This study aimed to develop a localized and efficient solution for the simultaneous enhancement of separation efficiency and reduction of pressure drop in static air inlet filters used in critical industrial equipment, with particular emphasis on the MANN+HUMMEL filter applied in petrochemical compressors. The importance of this research stems from the growing industrial demand for high-performance filtration systems that also ensure cost-effectiveness and technological localization. To address this challenge, an innovative surface modification strategy was implemented by depositing a nanofiber coating onto a commercial fiberglass substrate. The filtration structure was systematically redesigned based on surface engineering principles to achieve optimized pore distribution and airflow characteristics. Performance evaluation was conducted in a specialized filtration laboratory in accordance with international standards and further validated under real operating conditions. The results demonstrated that precise control of nanoscale pore distribution through the nanofiber layer led to a 15% reduction in initial pressure drop, a marked improvement in particle separation efficiency, and a threefold increase in dust-holding capacity. The developed filter maintained performance comparable to the imported reference sample and fully complied with relevant standard requirements, while significantly reducing production costs. Overall, this work proposes a practical and economically viable model for replacing imported filters and establishes a scalable framework for localizing advanced filtration technologies in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
